Arnold Schwarzenegger is the Republican Governor of California. As Governor, he has been very active in combating climate change. He signed Assembly Bill 32: Global Warming Solutions Act into law, requiring greenhouse gas emissions cuts. He has attempted to increase awareness of climate change in California with some videos and maps highlighting how rising sea levels could affect California. Schwarzenegger gave a speech to the UN about the importance of climate change and was one of the many US politicians to travel to Copenhagen to broker an international agreement on limiting greenhouse gases.

- “Global warming is one of those things, not like an earthquake where there’s a big bang and you say, ‘Oh, my God, this is really, has hit us.’ It creeps up on you. Half a degree temperature difference from one year to the next, a little bit of rise of the ocean, a little bit of melting of the glaciers, and then all of a sudden it is too late to do something about it.”
